Smith Law (that's Barbara) and Smith Rehabilitation Consultants, Inc. (that's Tom) at are already booking seminars for 2011 with nationally known providers of Continuing Education for mental health professionals, such as HEALTH-EDucation Network, LLC.
We have other programs "in the works" and are already negotiating with several State and National Associations, as well as colleges and universities, for speaking engagements.
These new seminars will include a more comprehensive presentation of mental health drugs and the legal issues surrounding patients using those medications, but now will include a possible focus on speech therapists, occupational therapists, developmental therapists, and physical therapists.
Another one under development will focus solely on the treatment of depression. Many of our attendees have stated that they feel "overwhelmed" when all the mental health conditions are addressed in light of psychopharmacological and psychotherapeutic treatments. This should be a "return to the basics" but will include several treatments that are "new."
Last, many have asked that Tom write a book on psychopharmacology. Well, Cross Country Education now has an extensive library of hour-long topics (antidepressants, ADHD drugs, antianxiety medications, etc.) More are coming. BUT...Tom has contacted several publishers about a book. Submission to one publisher should occur this month. We'll let you know!
